Our client, a global business in Engineering and Construction backed and owned by a massive US based company is about to embark on a large change agenda, there is an opportunity for a European HR Director to join a developing business at a very exciting time.

The purpose of the role to work with the Business Stream Leader and Management team to devise a people strategy aligned to the overall business stream commercial objectives; and to work with European Group HR and Regional HR Leads and their teams for the successful implementation of these plans.

To be successful in this role your relationship management skills will be tested to the max, it requires you to be inquisitive, proactive and due to the nature and complexity of the organisation your ability to make tough, commercial decisions in a constantly changing environment are paramount. If you can survive in ambiguity and enjoy not knowing what will happen next then this opportunity will definitely appeal to you.

You will be a senior and very visible European HR Director within a business of over 25,000 people worldwide. The ideal candidate will have supported a European client base and be strong in all areas of HR including Learning and Organisational Development, Employee Relations, Talent management, Recruitment, Compensation & Benefits and International Mobilisation (tax, immigration etc) and driving cultural change. You will use your influencing and negotiation skills to the full, assessing the changing needs and influencing future strategies.

US company experience would be hugely advantageous. Big company / corporate best practise experience is essential, as well as the hands on delivery element so the capability of crating something from scratch as well as the implementation are absolutely key to the success of this role. The organisation is culturally very sophisticated so previous experience of similar environments is a must. You must also be prepared to spend time outside of the UK.
